Rugby Canada has come out with a return to play plan that has been distributed to the Provincial Rugby Unions.  See the latest news release for more information on where BC Rugby is

We will try to keep you up to date as the situation becomes clearer but this is all the information we have at this time.  In summary, there is still no rugby at this time, this includes in person training and touch rugby.  It looks at this time that there will be no contact rugby in 2020.

On a brighter note, we have been working hard on meeting all of the requirements to get our clubhouse open again, following the guidelines of the Provincial Health Officer and Worksafe BC. I am happy to report that we are re-opening the clubhouse for informal social gatherings as of Friday July 3.

Things have changed, so everyone needs to be aware of the changes we have made to adapt to the “new normal”. We have created a COVID19 Safety Plan for the clubhouse (not for on field play, just to be able to use the facility) and there are a couple of printed versions available at the club if you are there – it’s also attached to this message. Everyone is responsible for ensuring that they are aware of what has changed, how it affects you as an individual, and what the club expects of members and guests who attend the club.

One of the biggest changes we have implemented is that there is now a signup sheet at the main entrance door that you are required to fill out EVERY time you are at the club. This will allow us to contact you in the event that someone who has been at the club is diagnosed with COVID19.

Some other key points for you to remember:

  • If you are not feeling well, stay home

  • Wash your hands

  • Maintain Physical / Social Distancing – 6 feet

  • Maximum occupancy of the inside of the clubhouse is now 30 people

There will be documentation and signs at the clubhouse and everyone coming to the club is expected to follow the new guidelines.  You will be asked to leave if the guidelines are not being followed.

Lastly, please remember that this is NOT permanent. We must remain diligent and do everything we can to ensure our members and guests remain safe and healthy, but at some point things will get back to normal, whatever that will look like.

Thanks again for everyone’s patience during these unprecedented times.
